• Don't worry if you don't know what a megagame is, we've got you. Check out our ‘What is a megagame?’ page that will give you all the details you're looking for.

It's even got a video of Shut Up & Sit Down's experience of playing the original 'Watch The Skies' megagame back in 2014, that inspired us to create First Contact: 2035. Talk about fancy

  • Our games run for a full day and you'll be given more details about the exact timings before it all happens.

  • If we're selling tickets to a game right now you can grab them from our ticket page. Otherwise join our mailing list and Discord community to be among the first to learn when our next game will run.

  • You will need to be 16 years or older to play our games. If you are under 16 or purchase a ticket for an under 16 year old, we reserve the right to refuse entry to the game and will not refund your ticket(s).

  • We generally offer the following tickets types:

    - Individual (full price)
    - 4-player team tickets (with an automatic 10% discount applied)
    - Students (10% discount)

We may ask for proof at the door if you purchase a student ticket.

  • First of all, don't panic! Even experienced megagamers and the facilitators won't know exactly what is going on throughout the game. No one can as 175+ players will be forming and playing their own stories.

We have however linked to a few blog posts below that may help you to learn more:

  • We send the game's handbooks out to all the players 2-3 weeks before the game runs, so you will have plenty of time to read up on the rules and your objectives.

  • Check out our venue page to learn where the game you’re playing will run.

  • The venue has lift access from the grounds to every floor the game will run on. Please see the venue's [website] for further information.

  • Check out our ticket policy for more information.

  • We send all the players who have purchased tickets a casting questionnaire well before the game runs. In it, you'll be able to let us know what types of roles you find fun. You can find out what roles are available in the game by checking out the game’s roles guide, which will be linked from the game page

  • Once we have everyone's casting questionnaires back, we'll create a cast list. The cast list link will be sent to everyone in the game a month or so before it runs so you will know in good time what role you'll play.

  • No, not at all. You're welcome to come along on your own and we're sure you'll make fast friends with your team as there is nothing better than working together to make some crazy play come off before the game ends.

  • Of course! Let us know your friend's names in the casting questionnaire and if there is room on your preferred team, we'll do our best to hook you all up together. If we can't for any reason, we'll either place you in teams that can help or hinder each other. After all, there's nothing better than annoying your friends.

  • After the game is over, the megagame tradition is to head to a local pub and swap stories about the day's events over a drink or two. We'll be sure to let all the players know where we intend to head once the final turn ends.

  • Yes, absolutely! We've seen players attend megagames in full military uniforms, lab coats, suits and cyber-punk gear (it was for Mirrorshades, a cyber-punk megagame, so not as weird as it sounds). If you'd like to costume up, we can't wait to see what you come up with!

That said, wearing a costume is completely optional. If you feel more comfortable in your normal clothes, then that's what you should wear.

  • No, we do not allow any weapons, from guns to swords or anything else to be brought to our megagames, even if they are replicas or decommissioned. If you turn up with any type of weapon you will be refused entry to the game and we will not refund your ticket.

  • No. If you are intoxicated or found to be taking drugs, you will be refused entry to the venue and/or asked to leave immediately. This is non-negotiable and we will not refund your ticket.

  • You can sign up to our mailing list, join our Discord community and follow our Facebook page. We'll make sure everyone who has signed up to our socials is the first to find out about our upcoming games.
